Welcome!
I’m an INELDA trained End-of-Life Doula, building on my background in community advocacy, education, and ministry. I offer support that is trauma-informed, affirming, and relational for individuals and those with them on their journey. My approach honors personal, cultural, and spiritual values, with a deep commitment to active presence. When an individual passes, it is a sacred journey. Frequently Asked Questions
What does an end-of-life doula do?
Doulas provide accompaniment and non-medical support across the connected factors of one’s life. They can be an anchor as one navigates serious illness, the dying process, and the early stages of grief. Doulas offer guidance to prepare thoughtfully for the end of life.
Why I became an end-of-life doula?
I want to honor the many ways people understand their bodies, dying, and the afterlife. I believe everyone deserves someone by their side who is solely focused on providing compassionate care. I hope to deepen connections, ease fears, and foster shared understanding.
How do I offer support?
I offer support grounded in respect and dignity in death. I provide information to help individuals make informed choices about aspects of their care. We can explore what’s personally meaningful for one to leave behind.
I partner with those of all backgrounds, identities, and belief systems. I feel a particular calling to serve members of the Black community and families navigating medical aid-in-dying. Together, we can cultivate spaces for speaking openly, navigating complex emotions, and making sense of one’s experiences.
May their memory be a blessing.
MY OFFERINGS
End-of-Life Preparation & Grief Support
Preparing for the end of life often involves thoughtful conversations about values, preferences, and care wishes. I can walk alongside individuals and families as they explore healthcare decisions, advance directives, palliative care options, and plans for future care. Following a loss, I offer a supportive space for loved ones to share stories, process their experiences, and reflect on the meaning, impact, and enduring presence of the person who has died.
Life Reflections & Legacy
Legacy work offers an opportunity to reflect on the experiences, relationships, and values that have shaped a life. This may include preserving stories, sharing personal wisdom through letters, recording messages for loved ones, or creating memory books that honor significant moments and milestones. These offerings often become lasting expressions of love, connection, and remembrance for future generations.
Emotional & Relational Support
Serious illness and the end of life can bring uncertainty, complex emotions, and difficult conversations. I cultivate a space where individuals and loved ones can speak openly about fears, hopes, and unfinished matters. Together, we can explore what feels most important, making room for honest dialogue that deepens understanding, strengthens connection, and fosters a sense of peace. During the final hours or days of life, I can hold vigil, offering companionship in the last moments.
Rituals of Remembrance, Celebrations of Life & Homegoing Services
After one passes, individuals seek meaningful ways to honor a life, mark the transition, and gather in remembrance. Often sharing personal wishes, spiritual beliefs, and cultural traditions. I collaborate with loved ones to create individual practices for remembrance, celebrations of life, and homegoing ceremonies. These rituals serve as acts of love in the early journey of grief.
