Interweaving Narrative and Self
A Reflective Path Into Womanist Theology
In this reflection, I put foundational principles of Womanist Theology alongside the defining aspects of Alice Walker’s key characters and the voices of Womanist theologians. It is a blend of theology, storytelling, and personal reflection to deepen readers’ understanding of Womanist Theology. Readers wrestle with their own stories as they explore self-love, authenticity, societal messages, community, and determination. Much like The Color Purple, this book calls for the reclaiming of the sacred in our everyday lives. It invites readers to affirm their divine worth and imagine new possibilities for faith, identity, and liberation.

intellectually rigorous, spiritually grounded, and deeply affirming.

My Why
As an educator and in-care for ministry, I translate scholarly insight into practical tools. I support everyday people in re-reading scripture through the lenses of emotion, race, gender, and embodiment. I’ve built my teaching style through a decade of social-services work, seminary formation, and community organizing. I challenge shame-based and harmful teachings by showing how liberative interpretations are found within the texts themselves.
